Zen Cat

I visited Engakuji temple in Kamakura for zen meditation as usual. It was so hot that I saw fewer people today. As this is a famous zen temple, it is usually crowded with tourists from all over the world (though Japanese are still the dominant visitors here).

When I was about to leave the temple from the main gate (beautiful wooden structure), I saw a cat resting under the shade of the gate.

She is one of the two cats in this temple. As she is often featured in the blog by our zen master (senior monk), she is well known among frequent visitors to this temple.

  Quite a cat, eh?
